BioBusiness Builder helps you to transform ideas to business cases and further on to startup companies.

BioBusiness Builder operates in the field of synthetic biology. Synthetic biology is a rapidly developing, disruptive technology. Synthetic biology enables design and engineering of new biological organisms as well as and redesign of existing biological systems for useful purposes. These synthetic organisms – living factories – can be programmed to produce a variety of desired chemicals, materials, medicine or fuels from renewable raw materials and waste fractions, as well as from CO2. Synthetic biology is used more and more in various industrial biotech applications. Synthetic biology can be used for instance in combating climate change, resource insufficiency and diseases. It enables use of side streams, biomass and carbon dioxide as raw material and supports resource efficiency and health.

BioBusiness Builder collects potential business ideas together in the field of industrial biotech and synthetic biology, develop the most suitable ones to business cases and further to startup companies. They will be introduced to investors and industry mentors to create collaborations, financing and business opportunities. There is a need for innovations in this field of disruptive technology.

Via BioBusiness Builder we shall collect ideas together to identify more innovations.

BioBusiness Builder will reduce time to identify new ideas and increase the number of ideas in the Synbio Powerhouse - the Finnish synthetic biology network and make matchmaking easier.

We lack at present this kind of collaboration model in the field of synthetic biology in Finland.

Prospective Partners: what might you expect from prospective project partners?

We are building the BioBusiness Builder service. The service is free of charge for innovators. At present we are looking for innovators. Later we will be looking for other partners (like investors and industry representatives) to BioBusiness Builder.
