GDPR Conform Perimeter Surveillance

About this project

Since GDPR is in effect, perimeter surveillance has become problematic with respect to the accidential acquisition of data. Examples are the video camera that records not only the entrance area but parts of the street or the camera at the train station that also has some windows of an office building across the tracks within its field of view.

In order to tackle these problems we are employing a novel sensor concept for perimeter surveillance. This allows for GDPR conformity while being able to detect, predict and classify any moving entity within in the respective perimeter.

Additionally, we are providing a higher level of automation through AI solutions, which allows a single person to observe larger areas or multiple perimeters effortlessly.

Our Proposal

Need: which problem(s) does your proposal solve?

- GDPR for surveillance

- Automation with AI in surveillance

Approach: how does your project solve the problem(s)?

- Novel sensor solution

- Smart autonomous system for surveillance data evaluation

Alternatives: what other alternatives could solve the problem(s)?

- Alternative sensors are available

- AI is not necessary but more flexible

Benefits: what are the benefits of your proposal?

- GDPR is not an issue

- The sensor system can cover larger areas than a camera

- The sensor system may be combined with a camera that automatically tracks an entity

- False-Positives are reduced and may be further minimized by combining sensors

- Reduced personnel

Advantage: what gives your project the competitive edge?

- The security market does not offer a similar solution yet

- The security market is growing heavily

- There are numerous security applications that are not yet covered with current solutions

Prospective Partners: what might you expect from prospective project partners?

- Partners could be players on the security market, that are interested in the technology

- Partners could invest in the development of the final product

- Partners could be interested in securing their perimeters without GDPR problems
