Frictionless Connected Car Payments

About this project

AppyParking has created the world’s first connected car and intelligent kerbside management platform that offers high definition mapping of every metre of paint on the road related to parking and traffic management. The platform also offers an agnostic IoT dashboard for real-time availability that allows cities to understand their assets whilst allowing drivers to make informed decisions before their arrival. The final piece of the platform offers agnostic connected car payments, which has created the world’s first frictionless pay-as-you-park solution, currently live in Westminster, UK.

The platform can already make cars fully compliant at the kerbside and is in pole position to power the connected and autonomous revolution with Last Meter Navigation™ and functionally. AppyParking’s efforts have already been recognised in its four year history; earlier this year it was awarded the Parking Future Award at the British Parking Awards, and was voted the 15th most disruptive company in the world, among other prominent accolades.

Its biggest prize of all will be when it succeeds in reducing congestion and pollution and making parking a truly forgettable experience.

Our Proposal

Need: which problem(s) does your proposal solve?

We aim to reduce parking from roughly 20 minutes to 20 seconds. This includes directing drivers straight to an available bay using real-time sensors and then allowing them to park with the click of a button.

Approach: how does your project solve the problem(s)?

We have built a near frictionless payment and parking solution that talks to the cities backend enforcement system and to the relevant payment engine to allow users to pay for their parking on a pay-as-you-go basis using BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy Sensors)

Alternatives: what other alternatives could solve the problem(s)?
Benefits: what are the benefits of your proposal?

Reduces congestion (By directing drivers straight to an available bay)

Reduces pollution (By directing drivers straight to an available bay)

Increases productivity (By allowing drivers to pay and start their parking session at the click of a button)

Increases efficiency (By ensuring the parking spaces are used more effectively)

Advantage: what gives your project the competitive edge?

This technology is not being used anywhere else in the world, it really is a world first and could change the way drivers park and interact with the kerbside

Prospective Partners: what might you expect from prospective project partners?

Where do we start?!
