Approach: how does your project solve the problem(s)?

This Federated Big Data Experimenting hub is a cooperative innovating environment, where large industry, SME and start-ups, and academia join forces to validate ideas for new Big Data products and services. This will be realised by proposing and executing small-size Big Data experiments on industry relevant data-sets for identified market challenges and to validate these new market opportunities.

The Big Data Experimentation Hub is a virtual data space using standards and common governance models to facilitate the secure exchange and easy linkage of data in business ecosystems. It thereby provides a basis for creating and experimenting new Big Data Value use cases, while at the same time ensuring digital sovereignty of data owners.

Alternatives: what other alternatives could solve the problem(s)?

Verticals or domains can create their own solutions for Big Data experiments but this means that the speed to apply new tools to build novel solutions is slower.

Mini-consortia of at least 1 SME or Start-up, and 1 Large Industry partner, that wish to work together on a common challenge to create a new Big Data based solution addressing a pre-identified market gap or support need

SME and Start-ups that desire to experiment on industry challenges which are pre-defined by the Advisory Committee Large Industry partners of iXplore

Academic Hub partners that wish to leverage higher TRL (research) technologies and solutions
