7SignOn

About this project

Our project is creating a single sign on plattform that allows people to consolidate all of their personal data, preferences and online shopping history in one database. All of the information is gathered from websites the user has visited before. Via an API provided by all participating websites, historic data of each other can be send to their 7SignOn Profile (approval is requested by the user beforehand, of course) and used to aggregate all data into patterns and preferences. These could include body shape and size, colour and fabric preference, brands, common themes etc. Ideally, a 3D body mesh will be created of each user to get exact measurements via dual lense technology in the application. By matching the measurements of each individual with the exact information on clothing items and combining them with preferences derived from previous activity and other given information, a personal shopping experience can be created on each website. The user will only see items that actually fit them.
Thinking one step further into the future, where AR technology is more commonly used, the user can also try on items in a virtual fitting room. All the clothes they have previously bought in any other online store will be added to their virtual wardrobe, so they can combine potential new items with their existing clothing before purchasing.
The plattform also allows you to interact with other users, for example rating their outfits. The virtual wardrobe is then able to incorporate weather forecast, personal favorites and ratings from other users into recommendations for outfits on a daily basis.
We intend to start this plattform around clothing, but once it takes off it can be extended to almost any field. For example traveling: You have been looking up pictures of beaches, so the platform searches for vacation trips on a travel website within the networks and makes the offer. You book your trip to Bali, but you only have one bathing suite. The plattform immediately recommends a few bikinis from various plattforms. Once your clothing dilema has been solved, a book is recommended to you to pass the time on the beach.
By incorporating all types of lifestyle plafforms into the Single Sign On model, they can benefit from the extensive data collection each user puts into the plattform and profit from synergy effects that can be derived from the connection of different areas.
Especially in the online shopping sector, this solution will significantly reduce the number of returns and therefore solve one of online retails biggest problems. By taking acurate measurements as the basis and enriching them with personal preferences, a unique shopping experience is created for each user.

Our Proposal

Need: which problem(s) does your proposal solve?

Reduce frustration of online shoppers that occures when an item is ordered, anticipation for the new piece of clothing increases and then the item does not fit. It also saves time, since no return packages have to be packed and taken to the mail.

Approach: how does your project solve the problem(s)?

Avoid returns by creating and individualized shopping experience for each customer that categorized items in each partnering online store in a way that only clothing that actually fits the user and sorting them in a way that prioritises clothing that fit their personal preferences. If only clothes that fit are ordered, returns can be significantly reduced - resulting in lower frustration rates on the customer side and lower shippment cost on returns on the retailers side.

Alternatives: what other alternatives could solve the problem(s)?

Before creating a 3D mesh of each person via their smartphone is possible (dual lense technology in most phones are not yet common), we would start with having users measure themselves to get basic information of their sizing. We also use their shopping history to derive from previously bought articels which new clothing could also fit their frame.

Benefits: what are the benefits of your proposal?

Improve shopping experience for the user. Significantly reduce return shippment cost for online stores. Realize cross-selling opportunities between various plattforms.

Advantage: what gives your project the competitive edge?

Most online pages focus on their own plattform. While they might allow users to log in with their facebook account to improve user experience, their motives for how the web store is structures is mostly driven by profit. Out solution puts the user in the center. By focusing on creating a plattform that makes their experience on ANY website as easy as possible, we create opportunities to integrate as many plattforms as possible into one. The user can log into any webstore using his 7SignOn ID and without having to put in any data, profit from and immediate selection of articels based on their preferences on that webpage. While the experience on each website is enhanced, the 7SignOn page then consolidates the input of all pages into one virtual wardrobe.

Prospective Partners: what might you expect from prospective project partners?

We have a thousand ideas on how to improve the experience of each user in such an environment. But to make this idea a reality, we need webstores that will join the single sign on project. The more plattforms join the initiative, the more attractive it becomes to users.
Also we need skilled developers and web designers to help bring this idea to life.
