WINGS ICT Solutions is an SME that focuses on the development of software for various vertical sectors (namely, water, energy, smart cities, food safety, health, transportation, finance) through advanced wireless, cloud/IoT, big data and security technologies. WINGS is staffed by members who have been active in research and development for more than twenty years. 

In general, as part of its strategy, WINGS aims at offering the incubation for developing new products and services, as well as at attracting investments for expanding its business or for creating affiliate businesses, which will be based on its most mature and validated prototypes. For example, WINGS has raised a seed private fund for creating a spin-out company (Incelligent, www.incelligent.net) that has as a top-level pitch sentence the accomplishment of “Knowledgeable management of wireless networks”. 

Currently, WINGS participates in various EU H2020 projects, enhancing and further pilot-testing the company’s solutions. Indicatively, WINGS was a member of the H2020 EU-Japan iKaaS (intelligent Knowledge as a Service) consortium, while currently the company actively participates in the projects H2020 MyCorridor (Mobility as a Service in a multimodal European cross-border corridor), H2020 5G-EVE (5G European Validation platform for Extensive trials) and H2020 5G-CARMEN (5G for Connected and Automated Road Mobility in the European UnioN). WINGS also has been actively collaborating with IBM for issues regarding big data and associated services, Intel Mobile Communications targeting at the development of both application and kernel level software for assisting the network interface selection procedure of a mobile terminal and Polestar, developing an application for ships that monitors and reports fuel consumption and CO2 emissions from shipping activities within the EU and stores all data collected in a remote enterprise platform. In addition, WINGS has been pilot-testing CATARACT (proactive mAnagemenT platform foR smart Connected water) together with OTE, member of the DT group.

Finally, WINGS holds a patent on “Early Warning and Recommendation System for the Proactive Management of Wireless Broadband Networks” and has filed for one on “System and Method for Personalized Migraine Prediction powered by Machine Learning”.
