Smart City Tampere

This community will capture the collaboration with Smart City Tampere counterparts.

Tampere Region in Finland aims for innovative and digital smart city solutions through cooperation between companies, organizations, municipalities and citizens. More details. Tampere Smart City project started in 2017. The project period will be 5 years.

Tampere - Nokia Networks R&D unit is one of the key partner for SmartTampere program. Key target settings for this year is to evaluating different IoT platforms. Fiware IoT platform is currently one of the open source selections for further PoC.

Active projects and status:

• Requirement specification for IoT platform
  • Workshops done and material under review.
  • Specification available (Only Finnish version)
• Fiware IoT platform - Infrastructure PoC together with TUT. 
  • GitHub repository available. The source code forked from Fiware and initiated for Tampere Smart City purposes. Currently we are working with TourGuide reference apps on top of Fiware IoT platform.
  • Development specific working items will be handled under GitHub Project.
  • DevOps type of CI pipe is defined to Docker Hub. Github and DockerHub is integrated so that a new commit in GitHub will trigger a new docker image on Docker Hub.

  • SENECC (Tekes/TUT) project to gather buildings energy consumption specific IoT data from several different sources and dedicated IoT platform -> Fiware PoC?.
