What do you know about Edge Video Orchestration (EVO) 4.0?
Edge Video Orchestration (EVO) 4.0 is an application that creates a new multimedia experience for end-users at different locations, e.g. sports arenas, race tracks, concerts, manufacturing areas and can be used for content creation and sharing by individuals. Video content can be produced, orchestrated and distributed to the visitor audience locally, otherwise it can be distributed over CDN in unicast and broadcast manner.
The solution is based on software from Nokia’s partners Smart Mobile Labs (SML), providing video content production & orchestration.
EVO 4.0 is expanding use cases outside the Media and Entertainment area towards Consumer-oriented use cases and Enterprises.
Thus, there are 3 new use cases being introduced:
1. Augmented reality overlays help to inject AR content inside video streams to address the demand for real-time statistics delivery
2. Public safety would help to introduce video analytics to improve operational efficiency as part of Industry 4.0. The new smartphone app offers „Push-To-Video“ streams for synchronizing a group of bodycams on a single output channel.
3. PocketTV is a new use case where each smartphone would be transformed into a streaming device. This use case has been developed for journalists, bloggers and as a complementary “Push-to-X” solution for Enterprises.
On EVO 4.0 every phone can be converted into video\audio stream sender. At the same time, each device (in-stadium scenario or for mobile security guard scenario) would be capable to obtain multiple video streams simultaneously.
